embroidering newspapers

Lauren DiCioccio’s stitching project mummifies pages of the New York Times.

Fibre artist Lauren DiCioccio is commemorating their potentially imminent departure with this embroidery series. Covering pages of the New York Times in cotton muslin, then stitching a colourful, unravelling portraits over the top, the series is pretty fun to look at – as well as having a rather weighty message.
