disability on the runway

A diverse range of people with disability will be modelling at this Melbourne Fashion Week event.

You might be surprised to know that almost 20 per cent of Aussies are disabled – but we rarely see folks with disability in advertising or the media. Good thing then that writer and disability advocate Carly Findlay is putting on Access to Fashion, a Melbourne Fashion Week event that endeavours to solve the pervasive issue of disability exclusion in the fashion industry. The event will entail a panel discussion and runway show featuring disabled models, including Michelle Roger (who you might have spied in our issue 82). Access to Fashion is happening at Library at the Dock on Saturday September 1st – but tickets have already sold out! Keep an eye out on your favourite social media portal to catch highlights from the show.
