Ullapool, that smashing little holiday resort on the west coast, has much to offer the visitor and holidaymaker alike.

A typical fishing port, for many years the main supply base for the 'Klondykers' from the Communist countries of the Eastern Block, had many boats, small and large, operating in and out of the bay.

Alas, much of that business has now gone although visits are still intermittently made for supplies. However on the good side many individual foreign and local boats of a smaller size still use the port.

The town is lovely with some nice shops to browse and a very interesting museum to take in.

Boat trips can be had for the nautical visitors who would like to venture out onto the waters perchance to see the wildlife of the sea.

For sport the fishing is excellent and a golf course is on hand for the small ball hitters.

Swimming can be enjoyed at the town's super swimming pool.

There are plenty of walks for the energetic with much wildlife to see all around in what is a very scenic environment.

This is a great area for a holiday and most certainly not to be missed.

For Eats the Hotels, Restaurants and Cafes provide good meals at varying prices.
Hotel, Guesthouse, Caravan and Camping sites are available.

Travel is by bus, coach or car.
For the tourists from abroad the nearest airports are Inverness with a connection to Ullapool by bus or coach, Glasgow and Edinburgh both connect to Inverness by air, rail, bus or coach, and on as above.
