Strontian, on the western side of Loch Linnhe by Loch Sunart is famous for it's Nature Reserve and Wildlife Centre. This is an area of great beauty because of the unspoiled nature of the ground, which alternates between wildness to sheer peacefulness. The walkers of this world will find this region to their liking with a host of trails to be explored and enjoyed.

Each building seems to be enveloped in greenery, which adds to the beauty of the place making an artist's paradise for those who would like to capture these wonderful views either on canvas or film.
In ancient times Strontian was known for it's lead mining and the remains of these can still be seen today.
Nearby the villages of Salen, Glenuig and Kilchoan add their own marks to the area with one of them being the propensity of Gaelic still spoken by the locals.
