Raasay, largest of a group of islands to the east of Skye and accessible by ferry from Sconser.

The island is popular for it's outdoor activity centre that is housed in a building of Georgian style.


On the south parts are ruins of ' ages old ' iron mines which are well worth a visit.
To the north of the island there's Castle Brochel to visit.

Watersports are the ' in ' thing on Raasay and enthusiasts from all parts come to enjoy the thrills and spills.

Travel is by ferry and car.
For the tourists from abroad the nearest airports are Inverness with a rail connection to Kyle of Lochalsh and on to Skye by bus, coach or car, or Glasgow with a rail connection to Mallaig and on to Skye by bus, coach or car via the ferry. From Skye to Raasay is by ferry.
