Mintlaw

Old Deer near Mintlaw

Mintlaw, a typical country village, is set deep in the beautiful shire countryside with all the splendour only a peaceful farming area can offer.
With it's wonderful Country Park and Farming Museum there's much to learn and enjoy about the area's natural wildlife and the walks aren't bad either.

At nearby Maud, there is a railway museum to gladden the hearts of any railway enthusiasts and Deer Abbey, dating from the thirteenth century, is also well worth a visit.

The recently restored Culsh Monument and Drinnies Wood Observatory Viewpoint are also worthy of some attention for the former has a good story to tell and the latter some terrific sights to see.
