Macduff is
one of Scotland's main fishing ports, which sits across the River Deveron
from Banff.
The main road passes
along the harbour and it's quite exciting to see the boats negotiate
the harbour mouth on their journeys to and fro the town.
The annual sea yacht
race between Stavanger and Macduff starts from the harbour on alternate
years.
The town has boat repair yards, which again can be seen from the road,
and when you see these little boats up on the slips it makes one realise
just how dangerous a life being a fisherman must be.
By the seafront
there is a wonderful Sealife Centre which amazes and entertains
the mind as to the variety of creatures to be found in the seas around
our shores. This is a very popular attraction and is always filled with
enthusiastic children and parents alike keen to see the exhibits.
