Keith is the market town for the farming community of the surrounding area and a busy one it can be.
It was also an important railway centre in the past, but with the slimming down of the railways this has ceased to be a factor of the Keith economy. Although the station is still there all the repair sheds have long since gone.
The town is also very involved in the whisky industry and the local distillery has a busy visitor centre.

One of Keith's attractions is the agricultural show, which brings visitors from all corners of the globe.
Not to be overlooked is the week long music festival when lots of premises stay open later to the delight of the visitors who flock to the town for the musical treat.

In the countryside around the town there are plenty of good walks for those of that ilk. There is also the Loch Park Adventure Centre at nearby Drummuir, which is well worth investigating.

Travel is by rail, bus, coach or car.
For the tourists from abroad the nearest airports are Aberdeen with a connection to Keith by rail, bus or coach, Inverness with a connection to Keith by rail, bus or coach. Both Glasgow and Edinburgh connect to Aberdeen and Inverness by air, rail, bus or coach and on as above.
