Training
and Supervision
(Corporate
and Individuals)
John is a NGH Board Certified Trainer. The Washington School of
Clinical and Advanced Hypnosis (Scotland) is a satellite school
of the internationally renowned Manchester based hypnotherapy
training school run by Shaun Brookhouse. Shaun is a leading light
in the hypnotherapy scene on both sides of the Atlantic and is
considered an expert in many fields of the discipline especially
Ericksonian Hypnotherapy. He is the Director of Training for both
schools. Please visit his web site at: www.hypno-nlp.com
There you will be able to view his impressive c.v. and the course
prospectus for the school.
The WSCAH (Scotland) was established purely with a view to bring
quality hypnotherapy training up to the northern end of the country.
As with most Complementary discipline there tends to be a bias
in training provision towards the southern end of the country.
WSCAH (Scotland) provides the following training for both the
new and experienced therapist and other health professionals without
the extra hassle and expenditure involved in getting down south
to train. Now offering Training in both Northern and the Central
parts of Scotland (see www.hypnosis-scotland.com)
1.
The Diploma in Clinical and Advanced Hypnotherapy.
The
Dip. CAH is held part-time over an academic year. There are
around 450 hours of both directed independent study and weekends
(10) of practical work. These weekends provide plenty opportunity
to practice the new skills contained within this comprehensive
and leading edge approach to modern clinical advanced hypnotherapy.
The course incorporates the National Guild of Hypnotists (USA)
core curricula. The Certified NLP Practitioner training is included
in this course. This gives graduates two internationally recognised
credentials. In addition the brand new externally accredited
Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma will be awarded to candidates
who successfully complete this course. As we move towards the
provision of integrated healthcare in this country the HPD should
prove to be a benchmark qualification. It will be the first
hypnotherapy qualification to be recognised within the National
Qualifications Framework. For further details on this course

Last session 2005/2006 over twenty
hypnotherapists from all over Scotland graduated through WSCAH
(Scotland) This academic years training started in Perth in
September (2005/6). We currently have ten students registered
and enquiries from as far a field as India and the USA in the
pipeline. Our Linlithgow base started training six students
in May 2006 and we have scheduled trainings in Perth and Elgin
for a September 2006 start. Please note we do not hard sell
our courses. We are about training professional and practical
hypnotherapists within Scotland. We have trained a broad spectrum
of individuals throughout Scotland from G.P.s, psychologists,
counsellors, teachers to housewives and career changers. So
far we have had a steady student base since we started teaching
within Scotland in 2001. It is our belief that if you are serious
about hypnotherapy then you will find us. Our courses are small,
select and intense. We make no apologies for interviewing all
our prospective students before training commences. When it
comes to hypnotherapists, then a caring attitude, good character
and ethics carry more weight in the Washington School than any
qualifications you may hold. To avoid disappointment please
register an interest now.
2.
Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP).
Provides
a blend of cognitive and behavioural science. It is basically
a model of communication focussing on the identification of
the thought patterns influencing a person's behaviour. Naturally
if these patterns are negative and damaging learning how to
reframe them will be of great benefit. Reframing these patterns
can bring forth an increase in your personal effectiveness and
life quality. Given its ability to bring about rapid change
the principles involved prove popular to individuals and organisations
looking for excellence within their internal communications
system. The school offers both the Practitioner and Master Practitioner
level courses. Those attracted to this training should be aware
there are ample and regular opportunities to attend courses
and learn NLP throughout Britain. Very good some of them are
too. However WSCAH (Scotland) provides a very pragmatic approach
focussing on the every day use of NLP skills for people and
organisations. It is very much based on sound learning rather
than spectacular experiences and outrageous claims for the efficacy
of NLP. I am afraid attending a course on NLP will not make
you millions. Using and applying the principles from a foundation
of solid learning, regularly in every day situations will improve
your life skills though. Such an improvement can only be welcomed
for both individual and organisation and who knows you might
just end up earning millions if you put that in to practice,
but let's get real, no guarantees.
3.
Meridian Therapy Practitioner/ Master Practitioner (EFT).
This
is becoming an essential tool in the modern therapist's box.
A bit like acupuncture and acupressure EFT Meridian Therapy
works by influencing directly upon the body's own energy flow.
This is fairly simple to learn and teach to your clients, once
you have mastered it of course, you can use it on yourself for
therapist maintenance. A technique that is gentle, rapid and
effective on pain, phobias, depression, addictions and past
psychological pain and trauma. This is a simple and painless
treatment using affirmation like statements and finger pressure
or tapping on specific meridian points about the body. Yes unconventional,
but no known side effects and a therapy that is evolving daily
as more and more is learned about the body's energy systems.
Taught on weekend courses and remember you don't have to be
an existing therapist to come along and learn this fast, simple
and highly effective procedure. Taught within the Association
for the Advancement of Meridian therapies syllabus. This is
a very useful technique for health professionals of all persuasions
and even just for people who like to connect with their own
energy.
Supervision
Therapy
can be a lonely profession. Having an independent and supportive
ear to call upon can be of immense value. If you are a newly
qualified therapist or a more experienced one, remaining truly
objective within therapy can prove difficult (yes, therapists
have feelings too!). John is an Accredited Hypnotherapy Supervisor
(NCH). Supervision provides an opportunity for that third ear
to therapists allowing them to discuss their concerns in confidence
with a suitable person. It allows therapists to evolve their
practice and gain invaluable objectivity in the process of therapy.
Because John is a process based supervisor it means that not
only can he offer supervision to hypnotherapists, but to all
complementary therapists as he tackles the dynamic process of
therapy (i.e. what is going on in the sessions with your clients).
Supervision can be offered on a face to face basis if you live
in the North of Scotland or on a telephone or e-mail basis.
So if you are looking for formal supervision arrangements as
part of your professional body requirements (i.e.post qualification)
or you are an experienced therapist looking for an informal
arrangement for occassional supervision, just simply complete
the contact form on this site and he will be in touch.
