Visiting
the Osteopath
Osteopathy
is a practical "hands on" treatment that includes
many different techniques, from very gentle soft tissue techniques,
careful specific mobilisation techniques, exercises and postural
advice, to specialist treatment
methods such as Cranial Osteopathy or Medical Acupuncture.
When you
visit the Osteopath for the first time they will listen to you
and take a full medical history, and this will then be followed
by a thorough clinical examination.
Your Osteopath
will diagnose the problem and will then develop a specific treatment
plan for you that is designed to help relive the immediate problem
in the shortest possible time.
Additionally
they will look at prevention, and how best to try and avoid
a recurrence of the problem and often advice is given on posture,
work position, and suitable exercises.
Why choose
an Osteopath
Osteopaths
have an extensive four year specialist training, and have over
2,000 hours of clinical training in diagnosis and the treatment
of patients.
Osteopaths
work in co-operation with doctors keeping them informed and
referring back for X-Rays when necessary.
Osteopathic
treatment is both gentle and effective. Osteopathy has been
a part of medicine for over a hundred years and is a very safe
natural way of treating a wide range of problems.
WHY CHOOSE
MORAY OSTEOPATHS
Moray Osteopaths
are in a unique position of being able to combine diagnostic
skills with a variety of different treatment methods such as
Osteopathy, Medical Acupuncture and Cranial Osteopathic techniques
to give their patients the best possible care.
Cranial
Osteopathy
Cranial
Osteopathy is a specialist and subtle type of osteopathic treatment
that uses very light touch to encourage the release of stresses
throughout the body, including the head, returning a state of
natural balance to the body.
It is extremely
effective in treating a wide range of conditions in people of
all ages, from birth to old age, where a more gentle approach
may be more suitable.
It is particularly
helpful in the treatment of young children and is the main form
of treatment used in our Children's Clinic.

Acupuncture
Acupuncture
is one of the oldest forms of medicine having been used for
over 3,000 years. It is extremely safe, can be extremely effective
and is normally virtually painless.
Acupuncture
is most often used for pain relief but can also be particularly
helpful in treating a wide variety of problems both physical
such as back pain & sciatica to migraines or nausea.
