Aberdeenshire

Aberdeen City

Morayshire

Grampian Region consisting of three areas, Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire and Morayshire, is one of Scotlands' richest historical bonanzas as well as being a diversely beautiful land.
Roughly one half of its border consists of coastline ranging from the awesomely rugged to the most wonderfully beautiful. The sunsets on the Moray coastline in themselves are renowned for their beauty as many a visitor will testify.
The land border runs through tremendous countryside, craggy mountains and desolate moors all indicating the feast of wonder and enjoyment held within.

Aberdeen City, home to the U.K. oil industry is an exceptionally busy place with terrific shops, a busy harbour, exotic gardens and many other exciting sights to visit. There's enough in the city alone to keep the holidaymaker occupied, especially the children.
For example without leaving the city boundaries one can have fishing, swimming, golfing, dancing, theatre, concerts, flower displays, showgrounds, festivals and much more.
The eating establishments are among the finest anywhere and there's a good selection to choose from.

Aberdeen has its own airport, rail and bus terminals so travel is trouble free for this beautiful city.

Aberdeenshire is a mixture of pretty coastal holiday resorts, fishing ports, country towns and villages each with a little bit of history to tell and even some with a big bit of history to tell. There are beautiful beaches with long safe sands, many awesome castles, abbeys, churches and museums, wonderful rivers to fish, distilleries to enjoy, exceptional golf to be had and an abundance of parks, hills and mountains to explore. There is much to keep the children busy too, such as playparks, miniature railways and sealife centres among others. The eating establishments are many and varied, most boasting good local produce from the land or the sea.

Aberdeenshire has a good transport network with buses, coaches and rail serving most places.

Morayshire is now the small relation in Grampian but it was not always that way, for Moray once stretched from east coast to west coast and was the most powerful domain in Scotland. It was from Moray that our hero Macbeth arose to the highest office in the land, that of king of Scotland, which he ruled for seventeen long years. From his palace in Forres, the town which was built by the Romans many years before, Macbeth brought a prosperity to his kingdom never seen before but alas, it wasn't to last, for, ultimately, the sons of Duncan returned to kill him at Lumphanan in Aberdeenshire.
After this Moray was continually reduced in size and power by succeeding monarchs.
Not to forget those men from the Norselands, there are places in Moray where these warriors left their mark, and, festivals in their honour are still held to this day.

Today, Morayshire can offer the holidaymaker a great vacation with its lovely seaside resorts, exceptional fishing rivers, challenging golf courses, distillery tours, watersports, bowling alleys, gliding, riding, boating, rambling along with its many castles, churches, museums, abbeys plus a cathedral.
There are many good eating places in Moray again offering local produce from the land or the sea.

Morayshire can be accessed either from Inverness or Aberdeen airports by rail, bus or coach.

Yes, Grampian has much to offer, so why wait, book now for a most memorable experience.
