on the junction of the Kyles and Fort
William roads is a beautiful little place surrounded by magnificent
scenery, which leaves the visitor in wonder and awe.
The village in those days was an important point as the Government soldiers could monitor the movements of potential enemies, for almost anyone was a potential enemy, and relay information to Inverness. Later Fort Augustus was built to cover that task. |
