It boasts a grand thirteenth century castle run by the National Trust and has a super old kirk with stained glass windows by Tiffany. The castle by the way, is filled with some of the finest works of art and should not be missed.

The River Ythan runs by the village and makes for a good riverbank walk or fishing trip as it is reputed to be the best seatrout river in Britain.

Accommodation can be had in and around the area from the excellent Hotels, Guesthouses, Caravan and Camping Sites.

Travel is by bus or coach.
For the tourists from abroad the nearest airports are Aberdeen with a connection to Fyvie by bus or coach, Glasgow and Edinburgh both connect to Aberdeen by air, rail, bus or coach, and on as above.
