Brora is
a lovely little town on the east coast where much history was made in
times past, for Picts, Celts, Scots and Vikings all left their mark
on the land.
The town has a Heritage Centre which is of great interest, also
a centre on whisky making at the local distillery where visitors are
made most welcome, and a centre based on the weaving industry which
has a long past history in and around the area.
Over and above all
that, there's a site of ancient stonework, which should help us understand
the abilities of our ancestors and is well worth a visit.
Being on the River Brora there's some good fishing to be done
either from the banks of the river or the shore.
It would appear that every town in Scotland has a golf course and Brora
is no exception. Maybe we should be writing that every golf course in
Scotland appears to have a town attached, such is the wealth of numbers.
Brora also has a
fine beach of firm sand which stretches some way up the coast so plenty
of good walking is on offer. Inland there is much to be explored so
there's lots of walks there also.
