Aviemore, Scotland's 'Jewel in the Crown' Ski Resort, nestles just off the main Inverness road a few miles to the north past Kingussie. It is a bustling town most of the year with visitors from all over the world.

The surrounding area is one of not only the Cairngorm Mountains, but of large wooded lands, filled with a tremendous variety of wildlife, breaking out into beautiful farmland, meandering rivers and placid lochs.

It's a great area for the adventurous whether hillwalking or mountaineering, skiing or snowboarding, rambling or touring, fishing or golfing, birdwatching or just plain old fashioned partying, this has to be the place for you. Not so far away there's also canoeing and gliding.

The people who gave Aviemore it's name might have called it ' only half an hour ', for in that time one can be in Inverness, Nairn, Forres, Elgin, Pitlochry. It's so ideally situated, for any eventuality or sudden inspiration, that anyone, who stays on vacation, should ever be disappointed.

For the history buffs the area has quite a few ancient fort sites as well as castles galore.

The nightlife is also good with the many musical evenings available in the local Hostelries.

For Eats there's an abundance of good food to be had from the Hotels, Restaurants and Cafes.
Hotels, Guesthouses, Caravan and Camping sites are available at varying prices.

Travel is by rail, bus, coach or car.
For tourists from abroad the nearest airports are Inverness with a rail connection direct to Aviemore, Glasgow with a connection by rail direct to Aviemore, Edinburgh with a rail connection direct to Aviemore or Aberdeen with a rail connection via Inverness and on to Aviemore.
