Armadale
on the southern shore of the island is an attractive place with its
castle and exquisite gardens. For the gardener or budding gardener this
is something to see.
There's a museum well worth visiting, if you would like an insight on
the history of the Gaels. Nature trails abound in the area and
I can assure you of a great day out.
There are horse drawn coach tours, which can be a lot of fun and are
to be recommended.
Boating and fishing
are other attributes of the area, and, if you wanted to take an alternative
from the bridge crossing, a ferry service runs from Armadale
to Mallaig on the mainland.
Back up the road a little there's the Knock Castle ruins at Teangue
and to the north at Tokavaig the ruins of Castle Dunsgaith.
At Aird to the south there's a picture gallery well worth a visit.
This is beautiful
holiday country and has to be tried.
