Ardgay and it's neighbour Bonar Bridge, which lies across the River Shin, are two very picturesque little places, connected by that bridge, on the coastal route to the north or the inland route towards Lairg and the northwest.
The area has many fine walks and there are some viewpoints relating to the natural habitat of the wildlife and the environment.

It is legend that ' seers ' or fortunetellers are to be found in these parts and as highland people are naturally inquisitive by nature, great store is held on the predictions made by those strange men or women.

For sport the fishing is good and there's an Airboat Centre nearby which sounds exciting.
A golf course is naturally on hand to keep the 'boys' and, not forgetting the 'girls', happy.
