Ardersier is a village on the base of a little peninsula which juts out into the Moray Firth at Fort George. The original village which was uprooted when the Fort was built was divided into two settlements by land ownership and religion until in later years, at the close of the Jacobite threat, the place became known as Ardersier.

It's popular for watersports, hang gliding and canoeing.

The birdlife along the shore is varied and a must for the birdwatching fraternity.
It has been noted that some rare Fauna and Flora are to be found on this interesting piece of land so if that's your thing get up here fast.

Out on the waters dolphins, porpoises and seals cavort to the delight of the many sightseers who come to watch them.

It's a lively little village with good singsongs at the nightly local venues.
Fishing is great from the shoreline and golf can be had not so very far away at nearby Nairn.
