Aboyne

Town

Aboyne is situated roughly ten miles west of Banchory and some ten miles east of Ballater in what is known as 'Royal Deeside'. It is a pretty workman like community with some fine buildings surrounded by exquisite countryside.
Situated on the River Dee the town has excellent fishing facilities which attract many of the angling fraternity from around the world to test their ability with rod and line. The countryside affords the visitor wonderful walking experiences with the wildlife of paticular interest. The town also boasts a terrific golf course with a friendly but competitive round to be experienced.
For the more adventureous among you a great visitor centre at Glen Tanar awaits with its extensive but exhilarating walks.

To the west as mentioned lies Ballater the home of the Queens' Guard and an interestingly good place to visit with its many attractions.
